I'm not sure about this song. Let me know what you think of it. Maybe it would make a good story, but not a good song. I don't know, It just doesn't sound right to me, but I don't know why.
The Tragic Tale of the Squid and the Whale
C Am F E - Verse
The squid and the whale
Share a tragic tale
For they were, you see,
Not always bitter enemies.
The squid and the whale
Would be best friends
Until that day
When it all would end.
The squid asked the whale
Over for tea.
The whale accepted
Said he would be pleased.
F E Am E - Chorus
Oh what a fate!
Would be in store…
Oh what a fate!
To be friends no more!
The squid and the whale
Didn’t see
The fish hook waiting
So silently
The squid and the whale
Swam through the door
The hook caught the whale
And his large lip was torn
The whale asked the squid,
Do you see what you did?
The squid told the whale
It was your carelessness.
F E Am E - Chorus
Oh what a fate!
Would be in store…
Oh what a fate!
To be friends no more!
The whale left the squid
Convinced that the squid
Had purposely hid
The hook for him.
The squid followed the whale
And smacked his head
Could he be that stupid?
To think the squid could kill?
Now the squid and the whale
Are mortal enemies.
Because one wouldn’t listen
And the other failed
To understand.
F E Am E - Chorus
Oh what a fate!
Would be in store…
Oh what a fate!
To be friends no more!
